What is your turnaround time?
It typically takes me around 6-8 weeks to complete an order, but arrangements can be made for rush orders. I start designing orders 4-5 months before the event date (unless it’s a rush order) to leave plenty of room to order paper, design your invitation set, and print. My goal is to have the invitations in your hands 10 weeks before the event date.
Do you assemble the invitations?
Assembly is a very time consuming part of the invitation process, which is why assembly can be added at an additional cost. Most of my clients prefer to assemble the invitations themselves because it’s a great excuse to get a group of family and friends together to knock it out. If you would like me to assemble all or part of your invitations, please ask for an assembly quote with your order.
How much will postage cost?
Most invitation sets will require the 2 ounce postage rate, and on rare occasions will require the 3 ounce rate if it’s too thick or includes lots of layers and inserts. If you are doing a reply card, this will always be the 1 ounce rate, and can even be reduced by opting for a reply postcard which qualifies for the lesser postcard rate. Rates change often, so I encourage you to check USPS.com for current prices, and always take your completed invitations to be weighed before purchasing any postage.
How many invitations should I order?
First, keep in mind you mail to households and not each individual coming to your wedding. This is often confused when ordering invitations. Once you’ve created a solid guest list, I recommend ordering 5-10% more just to be safe. It’s almost inevitable that you will add some last minute guests, and it’s best to have a few extras.
What type of printing do you offer?
I almost always use digital press or off-set printing because it provides so much versatility with colors and endless options, not to mention it’s cost-effective for my clients. I also offer Letterpress, Thermography, and I am open to researching other printing options if you have a special request.
Do you offer addressing services?
Yes! I can do custom address labels that incorporate your colors, fonts and any graphics to make the labels extra special. If you prefer to hand address, I also offer return address printing on the back flap of the outer envelope to save you that extra step. I can also recommend a professional calligrapher if you are interested in that service.
What other services do you offer?
Anything you want! If you have any stationery need whatsoever, you can add it to your order. From menus, placecards, seating charts, favor boxes, signs, or anything else you might dream up! It makes your event even more special and unique to have all the stationery elements coordinate together.
